Please Note! Every piece is handcrafted by either Marty or me. Our handcrafted functional pottery is created from white stoneware, high-fired to 2350^oF, which makes it dishwasher, microwave and conventional oven safe. All of our glazes are food safe. The dimensions are approximate and the glazes will naturally vary from piece to piece.

Since we do make our pottery to order, please expect approximately an eight week lead time before your piece is shipped (unless we happen to already have that piece in stock or somewhere in production).If this is a problem, please contact us. We never charge your card until your order is ready to ship.

CLASSIC DINNERWARE

It's really difficult to visualize the different sizes, so I stacked them so you can see the differences. Although I did stack them vertically, I would strongly advise that you serve food in them horizontally. The dinner plate (again) is about 10.5" diameter. The middle plate is a salad plate and is 8" in diameter , while the bread plate in front is 5.5" They are all in our difficult Gold 'n Red (aka: Copper Red, Reduction Red, Sange de boeuf (that's French), and Oxblood (that's English). Civil War Mug, more commonly called Confederate Mugs (7" H, Holds about 16 Oz.) During the Civil War, the mugs were made out of metal, but when the troops (mostly the Confederate Army) ran out of bullets, metal mugs were melted down to provide bullets. Southern potters graciously made mugs out of clay to support the troops. Rice Bowl (8"D x 3" H ). We call it a Rice Bowl because it has those little wiggles to hold chopsticks (a fine pair is included). We do give you permission to use the bowl for other thing such as soup, cereal, veggies, etc., however you might find eating soup and cereal somewhat difficult using the chopsticks. Octagonal Dinner Plate (11" Flat to Flat) Shown in Spirit. Makes it look like there's less food, but really rounds (or octagonals)out the dinner settings. Our small nesting bowl is 4" x 4" x2"H. and holds about a cup. The medium is 5.5" x 5.5" x 2.5"H. and hold about 2 cups, while the large is 7" x 7" x 3 and holds over three cups. One of our most popular pieces, this altered bowl is great for cereal, or soup. It's pretty small and stacks neatly. If you enjoy quiche, these make ideal serving dishes. You can also use them for a great apple pie (send me some) or serving vegetables, or whatever. Use your imagination. Our Chip 'n Dips come in two sizes. The large is about 14" in diameter and 3"high. If you don't have many friends or throw very small parties, then our mini chip 'n dip (8.5"D by 2.5"H) is just for you (pictured in Copper-Red, below). It also makes a great shrimp dish. Of course, when you increase your friendship base, you can always graduate to the large one, or purchase more minis.
